Made By Bob is to host an Australian dining and wine theme evening to raise money for the Cirencester and Bathurst, New South Wales Friendship.

The Cirencester eatery has created an Aussie inspired menu for the event to be hosted on the evening of Friday, July 19.

With delights such as garlic crumb Green Lip mussels, Yabbies with lemongrass, chilli and garlic, a main of charred lamb, green chipotle lime cauliflower steaks and macadamia nuts or a cracked crab.

Money will go to the initiative to give a second student from Cirencester the opportunity to travel to Australia, be it through holiday, work, study, sports or in the voluntary sector.

18-year-old Cirencester College student Alice Chandler was the first young person to be sent to Bathurst in October 2018.

She was taken under the wing of the people of Bathurst, including mayor – Graeme Hanger.

She was shown the sights, including the city’s world renowned car race – Bathurst 1000.

Made By Bob executive chef Ethan Rodgers said: “I have spent a bit of time travelling the globe and Australian food is one of my favourite types of cuisine as it can combine so many different cultures on one plate."

The Friendship initiative has gathered momentum since it began in 2017.

A host of businesses have backed the idea and Cirencester has played host visitors and dignitaries from the Australian city.

Anyone wishing to be considered as the next ambassador to visit Bathurst is being advised to get in touch with the friendship via info@cirencesterbathurst.org

The special dinner at Made By Bob is open to all and is £40 per person and is a three course menu with 50 per cents of profits going to the friendship.
