THE Sub Rooms announces an unmissable night of music featuring an iconic soul singer.

P.P. Arnold will be joined by Ocean Colour Scene's guitarist Steve Craddock at the highly anticipated performance at The Sub Rooms in Stroud, this October.

The songstress, began her career as a member of Ike and Tina Turner’s backing band, The Ikettes.

Dubbed the First Lady of Soul, she is set to perform a night of powerful soul classics from her solo career including: The First Cut is the Deepest, Angel of the Morning and Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow.

Arnold will also be playing tracks from her forthcoming album 'The New Adventures Of PP Arnold' which is due to be released by earMUSIC on August, 9.

Her new double album is produced by longtime collaborator Cradock, at his Kundalini Studio in Devon.

It will feature contributions from Weller, the Specials, PP’s songwriting son Kodzo and others.

Having started her career in California in the 1960s as an Ikette, Arnold struck up a friendship with Mick Jagger while on tour with the Rolling Stones - which saw him convince her to start her own solo career.

This bold move paid off, with her career spanning five-decades and working with musical legends such as Jagger, the Small Faces, Rod Stewart, Barry Gibb and Eric Clapton, and many more.

Joe Dymond, general manager at The Sub Room said, “This brilliant evening is part of a new programme of events for The Sub Rooms.

“We’re really excited about welcoming Steve and PP to Stroud and we know their fans are too, half the tickets have sold after in less than a week!”

Arnold has already been delighting audiences with her extraordinary back-catalogues at sell-out concerts all over the country - with long term admirers and collaborator Paul Weller spotted at her recent gig in London.

This very special evening is set to be an unmissable night of music for anyone with a heart for Britain’s rich musical history - expect an evening of stunning soul and jaw-dropping vocals.

The gig is scheduled for 8pm on Friday, October 4, The Sub Rooms, George Street, Stroud, GL5 1AE.
