A STROUD man has appeared in court charged with imprisoning a woman over a period of three days.
Thomas Stephen Fletcher, 28, whose address given in court was Robins Close, Devonshire Crescent, Stroud, is charged with unlawfully and injuriously imprisoning a woman and detaining her against her will between June 11 and 14.
As part of the incident, he is also accused of assaulting and causing actual bodily harm to the victim, and of damaging her mobile phone and clothing to the value of £209.
At a hearing at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court on June 20, the court decided that Fletcher should be tried by a jury at Gloucester Crown Court.
The defendant was remanded in custody until his trial, a date for which is yet to be set.
According the court report, the defendant had either entered a plea of not guilty or had not yet made a plea.
