A COMPANY in Eastington has been fined £3,000 for burning waste on its premises.
KB Coaches Ltd, of Claypits, Eastington pleaded guilty to the charge of occupying an industrial or trade premises from which dark smoke was emitted on January 9 this year.
At a hearing at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court on July 1, the firm was fined £3,000 and ordered to pay costs of £1,257, plus a surcharge of £170.
A second charge, of contravening an environmental permit condition, was withdrawn, as the prosecutor was content to accept the firm's guilty plea to the first charge.
