HERE are some of the latest Magistrates Court results from the last couple of weeks.

Harry Cairney, 19 and of no fixed address, appeared before magistrates in Cheltenham on July 9.

On July 2 he damaged a door window and on July 6 he damaged a garage window.

Both damaged windows belonged to the same victim in Stroud.

Cairney pleaded guilty and was given a 20-day sentence in a young offender institution.

He was also ordered to pay £115.

KB Coaches Ltd, of Claypits, Eastington were involved in a hearing at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court on July 1.

The company had pleaded guilty to the charge of occupying an industrial or trade premises from which dark smoke was emitted on January 9 this year.

A second charge, of contravening an environmental permit condition, was withdrawn, as the prosecutor was content to accept the firm's guilty plea to the first charge.

the firm was fined £3,000 and ordered to pay costs of £1,257, plus a surcharge of £170.

James Abery, 24, of Westwater Way, Didcot, Oxon, appeared at Cheltenham Magistrates court on July 9

He pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman in Moreton in Marsh four times in a week

Abery assaulted the woman by beating on May 11, twice on May 13, and again on May 16.

He has been sentenced to do 100 hours of unpaid work for the community.

The magistrates imposed a community order with conditions to do the unpaid work and attend 30 days of a programme requirement.

Abery was also ordered to pay £170 in costs and surcharges.

Jack Ayres, 24, of Burge Court, Cirencester appeared at Cheltenham Magistrates Court on June 27.

He pleaded guilty to assaulting three police officers and has been jailed for 52 weeks.

Ayres assaulted a man in Cheltenham on June 24 and then assaulted three police officers by beating them the following day.

He was ordered to pay £450 compensation.
