A MUM from Chipping Sodbury has launched a new business that is aimed at helping the older generations across the area.

You may recognise Emma Doney as one half of the double team that helped organise the Charity Baby Pop-up Shop in Yate Shopping Centre recently alongside Claire Davis.

Now though she has started her next business venture, officially launching Adorno Companions earlier this month.

The company will look to provide a companion to elderly people in the area.

This is different to providing care, it will be based on providing support in a different way.

“We have had a lot of people show an interest already,” Emma said.

“Everyone knows someone that could need support and there isn’t really anything else like this in the area.

“What Adorno is looking to offer is something that we believe is really important. Our aim is to assist with independent living activities, this includes day trips, hospital appointments and other everyday activities.

“We are looking to offer a range of support, whether it is just popping round for a coffee and a chat or taking someone shopping.”

The business has been started by Emma and a former nurse called Sue Price.

“Sue was a nurse for over 15 years and has a large amount of health based experience in patient safety,” Emma continued.

“We want to try to help people remain independent.

“We’ll work with people to help meet their requirements and have some fun along the way.”
