Before the Internet and modern print production, Cirencester used to have quite a number of newsagents in town and dotted about the estates and other parts.
They sold daily newspapers which at one time had been brought down overnight by rail to Cirencester station. All of them without exception also sold the Wilts and Glos Standard which for many years was printed in Lewis Lane.
Lost Newsagents include: Burtons and Callows- Gosditch street.
Trinders - Castle Street and the one which many will remember - Bailey and Woods in the Market place.
