Cirencester Park will host a national fixture in week four of the British Eventing calender following a process to replace the spring Gatcombe event from 2020.

Organised by Alec Lochore and Musketeer Event Management, Cirencester Park, part of the Bathurst Estate, will be running from March 2020 onwards.

Whilst offering the membership a local replacement for Gatcombe, the event will take place in the beautiful surroundings of this historic and iconic Gloucestershire estate.

Jude Matthews, British Eventing CEO commented; “We are delighted to welcome Cirencester Park as a new venue into the calendar for 2020.

"It has great soil type, which is imperative for any fixture early in the calendar, and is nearby to Gatcombe Park which it replaces. We hope that competitors will enjoy the opportunity this new fixture provides”.

Alec Lochore, Organiser of Cirencester Park Horse Trials added: "This is a wonderful opportunity for the Musketeer Event Management team to work with the Bathurst Estate to re-establish a fixture last run in 1973 and to build and develop a great early season event at this picturesque venue. We look forward to welcoming the eventing world here in March 2020."
