A park has been recognised as one of the best in the country by getting international recognition.

St. Michael’s Park in Cirencester has once again been recognised by the Green Flag Award Scheme as one of the very best in the country.

This international award, now into its third decade, is a sign to the public that the space boasts the highest possible environmental standards, is beautifully maintained and has excellent visitor facilities.

Johan Newman, Deputy CEO at Cirencester Town Council said: “We are absolutely delighted to receive a Green Flag Award for the second year. We know how much quality parks matter to residents and visitors, and this award celebrates the dedication that goes into maintaining St. Michael’s Park to this very high standard.”

Brona Langton, Cirencester Town Council added “The team are very proud of St. Michael’s Park and we all work really hard to make it such a wonderful park. Special thanks to all the grounds staff, the volunteers and also The Cabin café.”

International Green Flag Award scheme manager Paul Todd said: “Each flag honours the thousands of staff and volunteers who work tirelessly to maintain the high standards demanded by the Green Flag Award. We congratulate each and every winner on their fantastic achievement."
