Forest Green Rovers chairman has taken to social media to announce that he has resubmitted his stadium proposal to planners at Stroud District Council.

Writing on his Facebook page, Vince said, "Eco Park is back in planning. We've resubmitted, [and a] decision [is] expected Oct (maybe)."

He added, "If you want to encourage the council to approve it this time you could express your support to them by mailing planning@stroud.gov.uk."

It seems that Mr Vince has essentially submitted the same plan as per his previous application that was refused on June 12.

However, there is one minor amendment which sees one of the two training pitches changed to an all-weather surface.

The club has said that the change was made in order "to enable use of the pitch by local football clubs, thereby directly addressing the lack of sports provision within the district."

In response, there has so far been 21 responses to the lodgment of the plan, most seem to be in opposition.

One, from the residents of St Loy Cottage in Westend comment, "I have real concerns regarding the light and traffic impacts from the football season, (which include

many midweek evening games). Also, with the further inclusion of floodlit practice pitches alongside the main stadium..."
