Farmers' Market news with Gerb Gerbrands.

We have the Stowe Herd old spot pork stall away this week and Bow Brook Farm will be filling in for them.

Bow Brook had a spell at our Wednesday market in Stroud a couple of years back and attend Gloucester and Stow farmers’ markets with us.

Their speciality is the Boere Wurs, a curled South African style sausage, and they will also have other sausages, pork and lamb cuts and fabulous beef burgers.

They also have a great range of preserves, four of which, the Seville Orange Marmalade, Three Fruit Marmalade, Lemon Curd and Raspberry Jam won stars at the Great Taste Awards this year. Find them on Stowe Herd’s usual pitch next to the market café.

Elsewhere Styan’s Family Produce have declared the next two weeks as Styan’s Runner Bean Fortnight!

The long green beans are ready and in abundance (so good with new potatoes), so they are selling at the following prices; 450g = 1 lb = 1 bunch = £2, and 3 for a fiver. Or, for pre-orders only, TEXT to 07747 845548 with your name and “Stroud farmers market” to get a 10lb box for a tenner.

Painswick Honey are back again with their observation hive, where we can see the workings of a beehive, which was a great success at the market last month.

Also featuring this week are Sibling Distillery, Stainswick Farm rapeseed oil, Cotswold Handmade Soap (and soy candles) and what could be the last week of cherries from Court Farm.
