National Rail have confirmed that a person was hit by a train last night.
The incident happened at around 6pm between Cheltenham Spa / Gloucester and Bristol Parkway.
British Transport Police tweeted at the time of the incident: "Our officers are currently dealing with an incident on the railway lines."
Reports suggest there were six police vehicles at the scene near the M5 overpass in Cam.
All lines re-opened at around 8.30pm.
The condition of the person is not yet known.
British Transport Police have been contacted for a comment.
