A MAN has died after being hit by a train near Cam and Dursley station.

The incident happened at just after 6pm on Friday between Cheltenham Spa / Gloucester and Bristol Parkway.

Reports suggest there were six police vehicles at the scene near the M5 overpass in Cam.

A spokesman for British Transport Police said: "Officers were called to Cam and Dursley station at 6.11pm on August 9 following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

"Paramedics also attended but sadly a 51-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

"The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
