In the 1960’s, ‘bands’ referred to the brass variety or silver if you lived in Fairford.

Musicians who got together to play pop music were called ‘Groups’ back then and if you weren’t in one yourself you probably knew several people who were in one.

Who can remember 'The Cotswold Stones' who frequently played at school 'dances', or the 'Maybees', or the 'Blue Stars' to name but a few.

Cirencester also had a band called the 'Corals' which local lad Colin Flukes , aka Cosy Powell played with on drums for a while before moving on to bigger things.

The Corals, played each week at the Barton Hall youth club and during this time the band broke the world record for non-stop playing.

Cozy Powell was killed in a car crash on the M4 in 1998.
