The fire service has told the Gazette that a number of cars and a caravan that caught fire last night in Yate was 'deliberate'.
Two crews were called from Yate Fire Station at 1:16am in the morning of August 21 to reports of a fire in the Victoria Recovery yard on Yate Trading Estate.
Upon arrival they found several cars on fire as well as a caravan.
Two firefighters used breathing apparatus and hose jets to tackle the blaze.
12 cars were destroyed in the fire.
Avon and Somerset Police were also in attendance.
Avon Fire and Rescue Service have opened an investigation in to the incident that they believe was arson.

A statement from the police said: "This was a fire at a scrapyard (Victoria Recovery) in Yate.
"It happened at about 01:50am.
"Several cars were set on fire - 12 in total were damaged.
"It is being treated as suspicious.
"Anyone with information is asked to contact us quoting reference 5219192111."
