It's bargain hunter's galore in Stroud today with homes setting out out their wares as the hugely popular Stroud Yard Trail returns.

The event is expected to draw hundreds of visitors from across the area in search of an unexpected gem.

Residents are setting up stalls en masse, with no less than 83 private addresses hosting sales.

Most of the sales are offering a selection of household items, furniture and clothes, as well as children's toys and clothes for sale.

There will also be records on sale, including at 20 Captain Barton Close, 18 Summer Crescent and Yew Tree Cottage, London Road.

Typically of a yard sale, expect many vintage sellers too, with Mia at Trainspotters selling her wares on Slad Road.

A wonderful array of craft stalls, plant sales, open studios and gardens will also be enticing visitors.

Craft stalls can be found, among others, at 80 Bisley Road, 2 Oak Drive and at Tarnapol at Spillmans Pitch, with plant sales including 2 Churchfield Cottages and 199 Horns Road.

Hosting open gardens will be 10 Cutler Road, 55 Parliament Street, Fromedale on Frome Park Road and 21 Bowbridge Lane to name but a few.

Some artist studios are also opening their doors. They include 30 Bisley Road, 77 Bath Road and 27 Nelson Street.

For tired shoppers, many of the venues are also offering food and drink refreshments.

Shoppers who prefer a one-stop shop should head to the four so-called 'multi-yards' which organisers says will be hosting "a bit of everything and refreshments."

Conveniently spread out across four parts of the town, these four larger venues include Spacehoppers Co-Working on Libby's Drive off Slad Road, which is the main sponsor of this year's trail.

The other three multi-yards are the Crown and Sceptre at 98 Horns Road, Stroud Valley Guides at Stroud Valley School, Castle Street and Malthouse Emporium at Salmon Springs, Painswick Road.

Organisers are appealing to visitors to beware that there is very limited car parking at many of the venues and to leave the car at home where possible.
