Prinknash Bird and Deer Park is to close in the next week.

The wildlife park run by Melanie Meigh based in Cranham announced its closure on Facebook yesterday afternoon.

In a post it said: "To all of our Facebook followers and of course supporters - The bird park will be closing on the 2nd of September - permanently.

"Book online for tickets and visit us before we close for your last chance to see all the birds and animals before they are moved to their new home at All Things Wild.

"So come and see us for your last visit and enjoy this outstanding bird park."

The birds and animals will be moved to All Wild Things in Evesham.

The bird and deer park was established in 1973 by Philip Meigh, Melanie’s father.

Starting from a collection of waterfowl, the park has grown to house other animals, including reindeer, miniature Mediterranean donkeys, pygmy goats and a wide variety of bird and fish species.

Melanie has been the sole manager since her father died in 2008.

Back in June, Melanie asked for donations to help her legal battle against monks she claims were trying to drive her out of business - Prinknash Bird and Deer Park boss claims monks are ruining her business
