Stroud Pride's drag night, which is open to under 18s, is "proud" to be continuing after a successful first six months.

Hosted by The Little Vic on Gloucester Street, the event is the county's only monthly drag night that actively welcomes those aged 18 and under.

Organiser Michael Jones says, "It's a great opportunity for members of the LGBTQ+ community to meet people and have a good time in an all-inclusive, welcoming environment."

The event was set up due to a lack of LGBTQ+ events in the area, particularly for those under the age of 18.

Having such a supportive network and open community event is very important says attendee Kai Rayton, 18.

"I wish I had had the support of such an occasion when I was younger," said Kai of the night which welcomes all those aged 16 and up, and younger if accompanied by a parent or guardian.

His sentiment is echoed by Kyle Lacey, who, under the persona of Lilly Love, performs and co-organises the night.

"Stroud has welcomed the drag night with open arms for which we are grateful," Kyle, 21, says.

"This informal night, open to all, gives hope and a sense of belonging to Stroud's young LGBT+ community."
