IT was a glorious day at Frampton-upon-Severn on Sunday as this year’s Frampton Country Fair saw thousands of Gloucestershire residents come together to enjoy the best of country life and pursuits.

Held in the 30 beautiful acres of Frampton Court Estate, the event, billed as ‘one of the last truly traditional country fairs’, endeavours to celebrate ‘all that is great about the countryside and the people who work and live in it’.

Proceedings began with motorcycle enthusiast the Rev Stephen Harrison blessing the fair and comprised dozens of activities throughout the day including classic tractors, duck herding, a mass hound parade, the inter-hunt relay, vintage aircraft flypast, parachuting and Shetland pony race.

The Living Working Countryside arena showcased traditional country crafts and skills, with craftspeople who continue age-old practices demonstrating skills such as charcoal making, spinning and wheelwrighting.
