CHERRIES goalkeeper Mark Travers has retained his place in the senior Republic of Ireland squad.

The 20-year-old won his first cap for the Boys In Green during last month's international break, featuring for 75 minutes in a 3-1 friendly win against Bulgaria in Dublin.

Travers has featured just once for Cherries since, in the 2-0 Carabao Cup loss at Burton Albion last week, but has kept his place as one of three goalkeepers in Mick McCarthy's 24-man squad.

Middlesbrough's Darren Randolph and Kieran O'Hara, on loan at the Brewers from Manchester United, complete the trio.

Ireland, who top their Euro 2020 qualifying group, face competitive away fixtures at Switzerland and Georgia on October 12 and 15 respectively.
