An upset owner has spoken of her disgust as she had to put her cat down after it was shot by an air rifle.

A post in the Spotted in Frampton, Saul and Arlingham from the owner said: "Dear villagers, thank you for all your messages on my post the other evening.

In the early hours of today we had to make the worst possible decision as pet owners.

"Arthur was shot with an air rifle on Thursday, by a cowardly and despicable monster.

"The pellet, damaged both his kidneys causing him excruciating pain.

"Despite the vets best efforts he deteriorated and they could not save him. We are devastated and heartbroken.

"Such a senseless, cruel and inhumane attack on a pet by a vile, sick, individual who isn’t fit to breath the air of any of our beloved pets.

"THIS WAS A DELIBERATE ACT AND NOT AN ISOLATED ATTACK. THIS HAS TO STOP!!!

"If anyone has any information now or in the future there is a police incident 299 - 3/10/19.

"I’m sickened at the thought of anymore pets being harmed or killed be it a cat or dog.

"Thank you for taking the time to read this.
