Marlwood School has purchased new gymnastics equipment after receiving a grant worth nearly £4000.

The school was awarded money by the Tesco community grant scheme and has now purchased a beam, asymmetric bars, air track, vaulting boxes and a trampette.

The grant was initiated by Melinda Evans from Friends of Marlwood.

Last month Dan Phillips, assistant manager of Thornbury Tesco, and Nick Nick Quinlivan, chair of Friends of Marlwood, were in attendance for the unveiling of the new equipment.

PE teacher Mrs Morris said that the children are wanting to spending more time doing gymnastics in lunchtimes and outside of school hours, as well as there being more children wanting to take part.
