TWO POLICE officers were assaulted in Stroud town centre on Tuesday.
The incident occurred on the high street during the afternoon.
A spokesperson for Gloucestershire police said: "A man has been charged with assaulting a police officer after an incident in Stroud on Tuesday afternoon (October 8).
"Callum Lean, 27 and of no fixed abode was charged with assault by beating an emergency worker, common assault of an emergency worker and public order offences.
"The charges relate to an incident in which two off duty officers were assaulted sustaining minor cuts and bruises.
"He has since been released on bail and is due to appear at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court on Thursday, December 5."
