THRILL SEEKER who suffers from cerebral palsy has taken to the skies as a wingwalker to raise money for a charity that has changed her life.

Bethany Colburn, 25, was born with the condition which affected her mobility.

But that didn’t stop Bethany, and in 2015 she was awarded a scholarship that allowed her to learn to fly.

Last week she took to the skies strapped to the wing of a 1940s Boeing Stearman biplane to raise money for Flying Scholarships for Disabled People.

Undertaking what she called a real personal challenge at Rendcomb Aerodrome, home of the world-famous Aerosuperbatics Wingwalkers, she enjoyed the experience so much that she went up again, performing a ‘loop the loop’ and a barrel roll.

Bethany said, “My scholarship was incredibly valuable to me and my development.

“Flying provided me with the opportunity to understand myself, and my disability, better.

“The scholarship has truly changed my life and I owe them so much.

“I wanted to give something back to the charity and help change the lives of other disabled people, like me.”

The charity has awarded scholarships to more than 500 disabled people since 1983 and is looking for people over the age of 18 to apply for a scholarship.
