Cirencester Round Table Fireworks will once again be the town’s focal point of activity for Guy Fawkes celebrations.

Taking place on November 2, at Victoria Road Playing fields, the organisers are hoping to raise in the region of £10,000 for local charities in the Cirencester community.

This year the round table team have added a child friendly display at the start of the evening, widened the range of food and drink vendors, added a bar and invested more in the main fireworks.

“Most of our members either have or have had young children so we know how scary the first few bangs of the night can be,” said Chris Hill, chairman of Cirencester Round Table.

“The child friendly display, sponsored by Tiggers Nursery, gives them a chance to get used to the noises and get excited about the main display later in the evening.”

Hill also responds to criticism raised by some local residents about the bangs made by fireworks.

He said: “We have done the research and the fact remains - silent fireworks aren’t yet a realistic alternative.

"More importantly though we offer a safe and family friendly environment to witness a display by one of the country’s leading fireworks companies.

"With family tickets for four available for just £20 it offers far better value than a small box of store bought rockets and limits the noise to just one short period of time on one evening.”

Tickets are available at £8 for adults, £5 for children / concessions and £20 for families.
