A GLOUCESTERSHIRE-based flight simulation organisation will be embarking on a seven-day around the world flight to raise money for charity.

Velocity Flight Training, who are based in Haresfield, have raised money for a variety of different charities, and will be taking part in World Flight, the virtual around the world week long event.

All flights are conducted on the VATSIM online multiplayer network and are flown in real time, using realistic procedures and Air Traffic Control.

The team will be competing in the event as Team Velocity, and they have over 50 years' combined aviation experience. The organisation provide tailored flight experiences to customers.

The virtual around the world flight begins on November 2, and at 10pm UK time, they will join 13 other teams in departing from Sydney on the 44-leg trip around the world via the USA, Central and South America, Europe, the Middle East, China and South East Asia, before returning to Australia and ending in Sydney at approximately 9.30am on November 9.

The team will be taking part to support the local charity, Fly2Help.

Fly2Help are based in Cheltenham and they aim to raise the spirits of people, young and old, living in difficult personal situations and inspiring young people as they consider their future lives.

They also hold Air Smiles Days, which are respite days for children and adults living with profound disability, life-limiting conditions, severe illness, bereavement and isolation.

Team Velocity has raised in excess of £4000 for charity over the last two years.
