STAFF from a care home in Standish raised £185 for a disabled riding group in Nailsworth at the home's summer fete.

Jackie Chillingworth, activities co-ordinator at Moreton Hill Care Centre presented a cheque for the amount to the Patchwork Riding for the Disabled Association chair at Barton End Stables.

RDA chair Liz Stevens said: “Thank you so much to the staff and residents at Moreton Hill Care Centre, every penny counts towards this great and worthwhile cause."

Daney Thomas, general manager at Moreton Hill Care Centre said: “We are always keen to show as much support as we can to local charities.

"The RDA recently celebrated its 50th anniversary year and provides much needed support to many adults and children with disabilities."

Moreton Hill Care Centre provides residential care, nursing care and dementia care for 61 residents from respite care to long term stays.
