School children and veterans alike gathered outside the Sub Rooms this morning for an Armistice Day service.
A two minute silence was held at 11am, while there were also readings, prayers and a rendition of the National Anthem.
"In her sermon the Rev Kate Stacey said: "War is a terrible thing and should only ever be a last resort. Sometimes were are driven to war but even in war amazing people still do all they can to make a difference."
"It's those who stood in our place so that we can live and be free."
