DAVE Wrixon's Dursley Town 3rds surged to the top of Stroud League Division Seven with an 11-2 triumph over title rivals Cashes Green Reserves.

With no first-team game at the weekend, Dursley were able to bolster their ranks for the top-of-the-table clash, and it certainly had the desired effect.

Ryan Stevenson helped himself to a double hat-trick, while first-team player-boss Karl Nash claimed a treble on his return from suspension.

There were also goals for Jared Rees and skipper Carl Bailey as Town inflicted a first defeat of the season upon the stunned visitors.

* Dursley Town Reserves reached the next round of the Dennis Mason Cup with a 2-0 home victory over their Rodborough Old Boys counterparts.

Joel Stoneman gave the home side a first-half lead, although Town were grateful for a quartet of Keith Watson saves prior to the interval.

Will Gosling saw a penalty saved shortly before the break, and the hosts were unable to make their dominance count as the second half progressed.

Rodborough had a goal ruled out for offside ten minutes from time, but Gosling eventually secured the victory for Town shortly afterwards.

* Dursley Ladies endured a fourth successive blank weekend after their league fixture at Bradley Stoke was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

* Dursley firsts return to league action at Kingswood on Saturday, while the Reserves visit their Minchinhampton counterparts in the league, and the 3rds host Tetbury 3rds in the Bill Bick Cup. On Sunday, the Ladies go to Stonehouse in round two of the GFA Women's Challenge Cup.
