A Whiteshill and Rushcombe Parish councillor has painted a bus stop to mark Remembrance Sunday.

Cllr Karon Vizor-Beard has paid tribute to those who lost their lives after transforming the bus stop in Whiteshill next to St Paul's church near the Star Inn pub.

She said: "I just wanted to create a fitting tribute, to show my respects and give back to the men and women, and the animals that sacrificed their lives so that we could be here today.

"I started working on it in September, but obviously with the rain and everything else setting it back slightly, it took a couple of months."

Karon thanked the Greyhound Pub in Tetbury who allowed her to use the figures as the template that she painted at the bus stop.

"The first drawing I did was of a butterfly, I couldn’t draw to save my life and then I just opened a book and all of a sudden, I was like right I can do this," she said.

"I’d like to thank everybody that helped, including the Parish council, and all of the lovely comments from people, on Facebook and through personal messages it has been fantastic.
