A woman needed medical assistance after falling from her horse near a busy commuter road earlier this morning.
Gloucestershire Constabulary confirmed that they were called shortly before 9am after reports of an incident involving three horse riders near the Whitminster roundabout by Slimbridge.
A spokesperson for the police said: "Police were called just before 9am this morning, Thursday 21 November, following reports of an incident near the Whitminster roundabout, Slimbridge.
"Three horses and riders were at the scene and a female rider had fallen from her horse and was injured.
"An ambulance attended and the woman was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.
"No vehicle was involved in the incident."
The incident caused some delays on the A38.
