Nominations are now open for the Mayor of Thornbury’s annual Youth Awards.
The awards give recognition to the town’s young people who give their own time and voluntary effort in supporting individuals, charities or projects with no reward for themselves other than the satisfaction of knowing that they are contributing to the community in which they live.
There are four award categories – KS1&2, KS3&4, post 16 and team.
Each of the four winners will receive a grant of £50 to be put towards the charity or project they select.
All those entered into the awards will be invited, with their parents and representatives of their club or organisation, to a presentation evening at Thornbury Town Hall to collect a certificate signed by the Mayor and hear the judges announce the overall winner of each category.
The awards are open to young people who will not have reached their 18th birthday by May 1, 2020. Young people may be nominated for the award by their schools, colleges, youth organisations and clubs.
Nominations must be received at Thornbury Town Hall by 4pm on Friday 28th February 2020.
To fill out a nomination form go to thornburytowncouncil.gov.uk or contact the Town Hall, on 01454 412103 or info@thornburytowncouncil.gov.uk.
