Passengers in Gloucestershire are being asked to suggest names for a new fleet of buses.

Stagecoach West is putting 14 new vehicles on the road this month and, inspired by The National Environment Research Council’s ship which was voted to be named Boaty McBoatface, is inviting Gloucestershire residents to put forward their suggestions for the new buses’ names

The new buses, which are more environmentally friendly and will have USB charging points next to every seat as well as next stop announcements, will replace 14 of the company’s older vehicles.

Rupert Cox, managing director of Stagecoach West, said: “The introduction of 14 brand new buses to our Gloucestershire fleet marks our commitment to providing passengers with the best travel experience possible and we are confident that our customers will benefit hugely from the new additions.

“As the new fleet will be serving the local community, it was only fitting that we should give Gloucestershire residents the opportunity to name the new vehicles.

"We invite all of our customers in the local area to get their thinking caps on and send us their most creative suggestions over the coming weeks. We can’t wait to read everyone’s nominations when voting closes.”
