EIGHTIES sensations Musical Youth will headline a birthday party celebration on Saturday at the Sub Rooms to honour the memory of Stroud musican Jamie Fletcher.
'Fletch' who passed away last February would have celebrated his 47th birthday and a group of friends have decided to toast his life with a night of great music in Stroud.
Musical Youth were the fresh-faced band who captivated the nation in the early 1980s and gatecrashed the No.1 spot. Pass The Dutchie made global stars of the Birmingham boys when the track soared up the charts in 1982. They will be supported on the night by Gloucester hip hop MC Spark Plug as well as Mike Ayliffe, Bro, Chalks, Jamie Rainbow, Sista Fyah Oona and Stroud Block Party’s own Dubbu.
Friend Mike Bennett said: “We want to celebrate this true Stroud legend and most importantly we are also hoping to raise money for MIND mental health, Youth music.org and the NHS critical care unit that cared for Jamie.”
