AN elderly woman was taken to hospital after a kitchen fire.
Firefighters from Rawdon, Cookridge and Stanningley were called to Emmott Drive in Rawdon at 8pm yesterday.
A West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said fire crews were called to a report of a fire alarm going off in a house.
Further calls indicated it was a kitchen fire, with a person unable to get out.
The spokesperson said: "On arrival this was a small fire in the kitchen, one elderly female suffered smoke inhalation and was transported to hospital by ambulance."
