YOUNG musicians are invited to apply to play at next year’s Chalfest.

Headliners The Blockheads and former X Factor winner Alexandra Burke have already been booked to appear on the main stage.

But now the festival organisers also looking for some talent closer to home, to share the billing with the big names.

"We’re looking to nurture some as yet undiscovered talent in our area, and are inviting young bands to take part in a knock-out competition at Chalford Sports and Social Club for a chance to play on one of the stages at Chalfest 2020," Kate Birt.

"You need to be aged 11 to 18 and to be able to perform either your own material or covers.

"A small panel of local judges - representing all aspects of music performance - will be looking out for the best our area has to offer and we can’t wait to hear from you.

"The knock-out sessions will be held on a Sunday in late June or early July, and applications can be made now to the Chalfest site by sending us a contact name and email address and details of your band.

"Don’t miss this fantastic opportunity to share your talent with the community and gain some great performance experience at the Party on the Hill."
