A SALISBURY woman has been charged after she failed to stop for police while drink driving last night.

Stacey O’Sullivan, 33, was driving a silver Vauxhall Astra at around 11.20pm on Churchfields Road in Salisbury, when Wiltshire Police officers were alerted to the way it was being driven.

This vehicle then failed to stop for police and travelled along New Street and Brown Street before travelling onto the Friary and coming to a stop in a car park on Friary Lane.

The force has now confirmed that O’Sullivan has been charged with offences of failing to stop for police, driving whilst over the prescribed alcohol limit, driving whilst disqualified and driving without insurance.

She will appear in court early next year.

PC Jamie Boyland of Team 5 Salisbury Community Policing Team said “This incident could have been very different had police not intervened. Drink and drug driving will not be tolerated in Wiltshire.

"We know that many people will be enjoying family visits, work parties as well as many other festive gatherings this Christmas period. Remember to sort out your travel arrangements prior to any gatherings to avoid any chances of drink or drug driving.

"If caught, drink driving convictions carry a mandatory disqualification period of at least 12 months and a potential custodial sentence.”
