Cash has been stolen during two burglaries on nearby roads near Stonehouse yesterday, Thursday.

A house in Selwyn Close, Ryeford, was broken into between 12.30pm and 5.15pm.

The owner returned home to find the front door jammied open. Offenders had carried out an untidy search of the property and some cash and cufflinks were taken.

There was another burglary in Brockley Road, Leonard Stanley, between the hours of 4pm and 7.45pm yesterday. Offenders broke the exterior lights by ripping off the sensors and then broke the back door to gain entry. An untidy search of the property was made and cash was taken.

Jo Batt, neighbourhood watch officer with Gloucestershire police, said: "Please consider the security at the rear of your homes as patio doors are particularly vulnerable, and are a favourite point of entry for burglars.

"Also, remember to always remove the keys from the inside of any glazed or partially glazed external door when you go out, go on holiday or go away for the weekend, as thieves will use the key to gain entry if they can see it through the glass."
