Four masked men broke into a house in Stroud last night.

The burglary took place in Downfield at around 8.50pm.

It is believed that four male suspects were involved, all with masks on, and drove away in a dark coloured five-door saloon.

One suspect was armed with a crowbar. No property was stolen.

There was also a burglary at a commercial property in Nelson Street.

Windows were smashed and entry gained with a crowbar but it is unknown if any property was stolen at this stage.

PCSO Brian Stagg of Stroud Police said: "If you see anything suspicious in your area please contact us on 101.

"Police are aware of several other burglaries that have happened in and around the Stroud area, please be vigilant."
