SIOBHAN Baillie invited the prime minister to come and visit Slimbridge's "famous flamboyance of flamingos" today.

The Stroud District MP got her first chance to quiz the PM at this afternoon's prime minister's questions session.

She said: "This Sunday is World Wetlands Day, and I have the superb WWT Slimbridge headquarters in my constituency.

"Will the Prime Minister tell us what the environment bill will do for wetlands and wildlife, and will he visit our famous flamboyance of flamingos?"

The Prime Minister responded: "I look forward to seeing my honourable friend’s famous flamboyant flamingos at the earliest opportunity.

"I can tell her that our environment plan places biodiversity frameworks on a statutory footing—whether or not that includes flamingos, I do not know."

Each week on Wednesday afternoon the prime minister comes to the House of Commons for 'prime minister's questions'.

The chance to ask the prime minister a question is highly prized. The names of the MPs who will get the chance to ask the prime minister a question are drawn in a weekly lottery.
