THIS YEAR'S Kite Ball at Hatherley Manor Hotel & Spa near Down Hatherley on Saturday raised a record £22,000 for the James Hopkins Trust.

This was the fifth year that the Gloucestershire children’s charity has held the fundraising event.

Around 300 guests from across the county attended the event which was sponsored by Thomas Legal, Iron & Earth Equipment and BiGDUG.

James Hopkins Trust provides nursing respite care for seriously ill young children in Gloucestershire.

Regular nursing care is provided either at the charity's specialist centre at Kites Corner in Barnwood or within the family home.
