A warning has been issued after a number of break-ins in and around the Stroud area.
According to a neighbourhood alert issued by Stroud Police, there has been an increase in burglaries recently.
The neighbourhood alert said:"Please ensure you lock all your windows, doors, sheds, conservatories, and make sure you leave lights on in the house if you are out during darkness.
"You can always use timer switches, and set them for different times on lamps in the house, so they go off and on at different intervals.
"The properties have been entered from the rear. Do consider a good quality security light at the rear or, at the side of the properties. Or even a Burglar Alarm.
"Let's make it very hard for anyone to break in to our homes."
If you do see anything suspicious happening, call 999.
