Birch restaurant in Stroud will be closing its doors tomorrow as businesses in the community feel the impact of the coronavirus.
Posting on their Facebook page, a statement said: "As of tomorrow at 3pm we will be temporarily closing our doors until further notice.
"We will hopefully be serving takeaway coffees and bacon rolls on a Saturday (should the farmers market continue).
"All of our team have taken voluntary redundancies in the hope that we can reopen in August when our catering operation continues.
"A lot of people are offering a takeaway service and we may do the same in the coming weeks.
"However, for now I will be creating dishes and food packages for my wonderful team, in the hope that it helps with our coming financial conundrum.
"I feel it would be irresponsible of me to continue operating under these extreme circumstances.
We opened originally as dinner at six nearly six years ago and it has been an absolute pleasure cooking for you wonderful people of Stroud and beyond."
