NOW that public gatherings are forbidden, the annual Slimbridge Gardening Club Spring Show has been cancelled.

But with the country under lockdown, the joy of gardening has become more important than ever.

This simple pleasure allows those lucky enough to have gardens to get outside and engage with nature and enjoy some fresh air and exercise.

And, determined not to let everyone's horticultural triumphs go to uncelebrated, the members of Slimbridge Gardening Club have decided to hold a virtual show, so that people can still exhibit their entries.

The show is open to all.

Those wishing to enter should send their images, noting which class they are entering, to steve@digwellgreenfingers.co.uk

Two or three images of each item from a different angle would be helpful.

Photography skills do not matter and will gain no points.

A card number will be allocated but entries will be anonymous.

Steve will make a slide show video for each class and join the lot together to publish over the weekend for judging.

Entries will be accepted until midday on April 4.
