STROUD District Foodbank is continuing to support the community, but is operating a delivery service, rather than drop in, to ensure the safety of volunteers and clients during the pandemic.

"We are working flat out on meeting the most pressing needs at the moment," said foodbank manager Nikki Clarke.

"We are working with all agencies to ensure that those who are in most need receive support.

"In March, we doubled the number of people fed on the previous March. We also gave out over 170 Easter holiday bags to 14 schools in the district.

"As April progresses, we are continuing to see high demand. We’ve teamed up with the Long Table and have been able to offer frozen home cooked meals as well as a food parcels.

"We have also had huge support from the public, with gifts of food and financial help.

"We’ve had lots of support from local supermarkets too.

"Information about how we can help, how to volunteer with us, how to donate, and how to get in touch are all available on our website: strouddistrict.foodbank.org.uk
