A BEEKEEPER from Cirencester has warned residents to be careful as the season is now upon us when you may see a number of honey bees around the area.
A swarm of honey bees landed on the war memorial in Cirencester on Saturday and John Stevens, a member of the British Beekeeping Association has previously had to attend to a swarm by Cirencester Primary School.
He said: “When dealing with a colony we always try to save the bees.
“If you see a swarm please contact someone from the Cirencester and District Beekeepers Association who will advise and arrange collection of them.
“We cannot deal with wasps or collect bumble bees, which incidentally are protected by law. We do not charge for this service, but would appreciate a small donation to our association to help fund the training of new beekeepers.”
