RESIDENTS keen to have a bigger say on Stroud's future are being sought to fill a vacant seat on the town council.
The councillor vacancy is in Valley ward.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the new councillor will not be selected through the election process.
A spokeswoman for the council said: " Under normal circumstances there would have been an election for all of the seats on the town council in May 2020, but this has been delayed until May 2021 because of the coronavirus pandemic.
"The person co-opted to fill this vacancy will therefore serve for about 10 months."
The role is voluntary, although the council has a system of allowances to cover out-of-pocket expenses such as carers, babysitters and travel.
The Valley Ward largely covers the area between Slad Road and Summer Street.
The closing date for applications is July 10.
The council will consider applications at their meeting on July 20.
