TOWN crier Tony Evans marked the 67th anniversary of the Queen’s coronation today in Mortimer Gardens, Nailsworth with a special ‘cry’ of congratulations from the town to Queen Elizabeth II.
Tony Evans makes sure a flag is kept flying in the town and today he raised the union flag for the occasion.
Tony Evans has been Nailsworth’s town crier for 28 years and is also town crier for Minchinhampton and Tetbury.
He hasn’t let lockdown slow him down and with the help of the mayor, Jonathan Duckworth, he has recorded messages of friendship and support for Nailsworth’s twin town Leves in France, and Perry in New York State from his garden.
