BUSINESSES are gradually opening up across the Five Valleys as lockdown restrictions are eased.

Outdoor markets and car showrooms were allowed to reopen on Monday.

Bristol Street Motors Ford in Stroud opened for business and discussed how they have been preparing.

General manager Luke Phillips said: “Across the dealership colleagues have been putting significant time and resource into making sure that we are in a safe workplace and a safe environment for customers.

“The group has been working towards opening for some time, following Government advice and the wider motor industry standards, and it is important that customers know what to expect when they come to the Stroud branch.

“We are delighted to be able to welcome customers back, albeit with a different, safe but always professional and friendly way of working.”

Like all businesses, Bristol Street Motors has made huge changes to comply with social distancing, including implementing the two metre rule and displaying floor signs.

Every colleague has their temperature checked before going into work, hand sanitisers are available for customers and staff, all cars on the court are locked and are sanitised after every customer uses one.

Appointments are also only available through bookings and all payments are contactless.
