The Met Office has issue a yellow weather warning for Gloucestershire - with thunder and lighting forecast for the county.

A forecast spokesman said: "Whilst many places will be dry or see little rain, thunderstorms may cause flooding and disruption in a few places."

Storms are forecast for the area on Thursday afternoon (June 25), and on Friday and Saturday too.

Thunder and lighting may hit tomorrow from around 4pm.

The Met Office issued the yellow alert this morning and have warned the downpours could lead to localised flooding.

The Met Office has warned:

* Flooding of homes and businesses could happen quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds;

* Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and cancellations to train and bus services;

* Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures;

* Some communities might become cut off if roads flood;

* Power cuts might occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost.
